What would make you want to.....
pay for a portfolio site? I want to hear from all people on this........... Jan 03 06 12:32 pm Link As in what would make a model/photographer want to pay to have a portfolio side made? Jan 03 06 12:36 pm Link As a hobby shooter, I'm on a couple of free sites to see how well I'm received. At this point in my young career (1 1/2yrs), I would not place a value on paying to show my photos. I can enter them in local gallery showings and in Seattle; there are a lot of gallery shows all year long. Jan 03 06 12:38 pm Link No what benefits would make you want to pay to join a modeling/photographer site? Sorry if I wasn't clear- Just wondering why people pay for sites like OMP, Musecube, AllModelZone, etc..... Jan 03 06 12:40 pm Link I left MC when they started charging a few months back. Edit: There are zero benifits that I can see. It's like advertising in the classified section of the paper. People see what they want to see. I'm aiming for the WOMA market. Jan 03 06 12:40 pm Link knowledge, contacts, paid work-(could happen), free shoots, fun, I like to give away my money so why not to some computer geeks who shoot bad photos, converserving with the like of whom I would not normally,....... If paid then you get rid of some of the "wanna be but don't belongs" Jan 03 06 12:51 pm Link I would like to see a site that acts like an agent in marketing the photographers and models on the site to potential paying clients. The site could take a commission of each job/sale booked through the site. I would want to see stats on traffic and revenue through the site. Just like an agent, If the artists are making money, the site makes money. Eric Foltz Jan 03 06 01:01 pm Link Nothing. I don't pay. -Don Jan 03 06 06:48 pm Link There's no benefit to paying for inclusion on a website, in my opinion. Jan 03 06 08:06 pm Link Well I'm paying $80/yr. for OMP because there are 100,000 models on the site. Granted, many are just Girls With Pics but it's still where I schedule a lot of shoots. Jan 03 06 09:04 pm Link I would pay for a portfolio site if I could make more from it than if I didn't pay. However, I only pay for one site and that's because it serves as a way to investigae people before I agree to work with them. Jan 04 06 12:06 pm Link Depends on how good and user friendly the designer can make it. $200 to $300 is a good price. Jan 04 06 12:10 pm Link A guarentee that I would find people to work with [on my terms] on a regular basis, or my money back. Jan 04 06 05:48 pm Link well i have been on sites that I have paid for like OMP but i didnt recive one singel paying job from that site , I would prefer to sink the money into my website and be a part of free sites. I would be sad if i had to start paying for this one. Jan 04 06 07:22 pm Link I would pay if: -I thought it would get me work -I thought it would help me network (well) - I enjoyed it immensely Jan 04 06 08:23 pm Link |
