Alright, why haven't we seen this show yet? We have seen many shows on the models and now one with the fashion designers, so where is the one for us guys who bring all that together and make the photograph? Its long overdue...

It wouldnt go. Photographers for the most part arent sexy. Of course I do not include Dawn in that statement. Hell, how about the DawnElizabeth show? smile

Like Santino or any of the other trolls on Project Runway are? lol  I think the show would do just fine, there would be plenty of sexy models for the people only interested in that aspect of course.

i think we wond see it cause us photogs arent as dramatic, in a good way.  You know we wont be bitchen about who drank whos red bull, or cry cause we are sent home.  If i got voted off id be like "well danm."  From my expirence with other photogs, we are really relaxed people.  I suppose that is why out of all artist statisticly we live the longest.

You throw a bunch of photographers in the room and the most drama you'll get is an endless Canon vs. Nikon and film vs. digital debate.    Of course, the poor Fuji, Olympus,  and Kodak shooters will be off to the side feeling vaguely inadequate; and if there's anyone shooting anything else, he'll be shopping on B&H's web site for a new camera so that he can be accepted by any of the others.  Of course, that doesn't apply to Mamiya or Hasselblad MF shooters, who will sneer condescendingly at everyone just like new Macintosh owners do.   smile

You know, I was just thinking about how I would format a show like that in the shower the other day. Interesting idea, but I dont know how someone would pull it off.

Just because it's timely - they're showing the back to back of ANTM on VH1 right now. I'm seeing all the shoots - correct me if I'm wrong, but are they mostly using Hasselblads with tethered backs?

I always play 'spot the camera', which is tough because I'm not so good at that game.

If they are doing it that way - what is the program they use for instant capture? Does Hassel have a specific one?

Anyway, enough dumb questions....back to the show. Didn't mean to hijack (slightly).

Most people who use hassys prefer Capture 1 with the Phaseone backs

Some use the Leaf back, but everyone hates leaf's software

But, seeing as ANTM gets mostly amateur girls with little to no experience, wouldn't ANTP be comprised mostly of the so-called GWC types?

Then again, it could get interesting... the inevitable scene where the "photographer" tries to get frisky with a thong-clad muse... ssssSLAPPP! as the back of her hand leaves a red welt on his face....

Captivating viewing, fer sure.

I saw a show a few times on TV. They take a number of photographers and put them in a house. Give them a model and a roll of film. Then they judge them.  It was very intertaining. I am not sure if its' Canadian show, but I think it is.

They could go from there. Add some more photogs, models and dramma..Move to different locations around the North America.  It would be a good show with a good producer, you know. I'd just suggest getting younger photographers(20-30y.o.)

It would be fantastic if Bravo made it.

It would suck if UPN made it.

On the WB?? Well, crap, there goes that halfway successful show we were hoping for. Did they stick it in between 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls?

Wait.... I remember one instance where there was a lot of photographer drama.  I was at an event in NOLA, and I will not name any names, but he spent 6 hours the last day of the event with 3 models, told all the models to turn off their phones cause he was getting tired of the models ride saying they where ready to go home.  Those 3 models where the models all the photographers wanted to work with.

Needless to say he isn't allowed back to the event.

Ya, I was watching ANTM yesterday too which gave me the idea. You could give 14 different photogs a model and an idea of what a client wanted and I'm sure you would get very different and interesting results. You keep making cuts each week based on how the client for that assignment likes the shot and the overall winner gets a layout and maybe even a years contract with a magazine. I think it would be a great show.

Back to ANTM. I have never watched that show before because none of the models interested me enough at first glance. After watching the first two seasons, I agree with most of it. I know they are looking at the overall performance rather than just the photos, but how they kept the butt ugly girl with the lazy eye who should have never made the top 1,000 over a beauty like Tattiana in season 2 is beyond me. I think letting Brittany go was a big mistake too, but I did like both Adrianne and Naima alot. Where are these girls at? I'm sure there are alot of others who would love to work with them, myself included.
