How crazy is too crazy for photo ideas?
I was just wondering if anyone can give me a limit as to what is to crazy to ask a photographer for on a TFP basis. I get all these silly ideas like...I love the Bohemian Green Fairy, and I think it would be a fun shoot. I know that I should probably stick to the basics because I am new, but I just want to have fun with this, and I would love images like that. So here is the second part of the question...what is the craziest thing you've done for a shoot? Dec 05 05 08:03 pm Link You can get as crazy as you like for shoots. IMO, the crazier, the better. Dec 05 05 08:05 pm Link The craziest ? hmmm I have had to power and shave an ass before Dec 05 05 08:07 pm Link hahahahahaha...guy or girl's ass? I've gotta say that's one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Dec 05 05 08:08 pm Link I think as long as the idea does not make anyone commit a felony, it's fair game. Misdemeanors are okay. Dec 05 05 08:09 pm Link i'm far too moral to break the law ; ) Dec 05 05 08:16 pm Link Anna Michelle wrote: No idea is to crazy to try to accomplish. As far as going to a photographer for a crazy tfp shoot, that would make the photographer be more likely to make an exception for you (if tfp is not their thing). At least in my books. Creativity rules! Dec 05 05 08:17 pm Link I'm the wrong one to ask If the fun outweighs everything else, do it Dec 05 05 08:20 pm Link As long as no one's getting hurt...that doesn't want to get hurt - lol! Dec 05 05 08:24 pm Link Craziest thing ever...hung out the back of a mini van, upside down, holding on to the photographer who was also hanging out of the back of the minivan upside down (I was assisting at the time)...taking photos of a model riding a bike......... Dec 05 05 08:25 pm Link utako omori wrote: I like B better... Dec 05 05 08:26 pm Link haha...okay, so are we talking ass..like my bum or ass like my buddies donkey...or ass like he's an ass? Dec 05 05 08:27 pm Link get a crazy as you can... The problem is usually that the crazier the idea, the more production is required on the shoot (locations, props, wardrobe, etc). Thus it requires more people involved to make it happen. Harder to do with TFP. -steve http://www.stevennoreyko.com/ Dec 05 05 08:28 pm Link There is no such thing of Crazy, I do not know this word Dec 05 05 08:28 pm Link I love crazy and creative...but nobody ever wants to play creative with me for TFCD Dec 05 05 08:30 pm Link Crazy??? not in my vocabulary Dec 05 05 08:30 pm Link Deadly Design Make-up wrote: How hairy was it that you had to power shave the ass? Dec 05 05 08:33 pm Link StevenNoreyko wrote: that is why you find a model (me) who is also a stylist/wardrobe/concept (me) and a MUA (me) throw in a female model (not me unless you want to turn me into one) and the rest is all you Dec 05 05 08:34 pm Link Crazy is good... STUPID is not.. Im game as long as there is no irrepairable physical danger to the model or photographer (ie ME) Dec 05 05 08:35 pm Link Nemi wrote: Hey, come up with a concept and be as crazy as you want...I'll shoot it if I like it! Dec 05 05 08:40 pm Link If the craziness equals the fun factor then I say go ahead and do it for all you are worth heh heh Dec 05 05 08:40 pm Link The crazier the better .... Post your idea and just about every photog will answer you back ... Always looking for something out of the ordinary !!!! Dec 05 05 08:45 pm Link hey I just made a fur bikini out of real fur anybody want to shoot with me? Dec 05 05 08:46 pm Link Duncan wrote: that sounds wrong on so many levels Dec 05 05 08:47 pm Link Duncan wrote: ok if you really want me to wear it i'll do it Dec 05 05 08:51 pm Link Actually, I will usually choose to go with a model that has a more creative idea than a boring one for tfp. I always have a bunch of ideas of my own, but sometimes it's nice to have a fresh perspective from someone else. The idea of TFP is to shoot something that will benefit both model and photographer. I can do boring shoots with just about anyone, it's the creative/off the wall stuff that is more rare and will help me add unique images to my portfolio. Provided of course that the model is willing to at least help out with some of the production required as far as buying props or maybe helping find a location to carry it out in, both parties should play a role in that and split it up. Dec 05 05 08:51 pm Link Crazy is not something i have seen yet . So Bring on the Bohemian green fairy project because i have the Hairgels to make it happen sorry everyone , now back to the Ass shaving , and Fur bikinis haha Dec 05 05 08:56 pm Link Hmm ..my craziest would be electrocuting myself while standing in a foot of water trying to operate an electrical fog machine, while being a human wave machine, while assisting on a shoot of a mermaid that I painted on a rock that I donated 2 layers of skin to make out of cement! (see portfolio for result) Dec 05 05 08:59 pm Link Me... I've seen some of the stuff some friends have come up with... I don't think much can be crazier than that... And If the idea sounds feasable and not to life threatening I'd be willing to shoot it... Dec 05 05 10:08 pm Link Brian Diaz wrote: Hopefully the power shaving was only for the mounds. I feel for you if you had to clear the underbrush from the valley with a power shave. Dec 05 05 10:14 pm Link I was honestly wondering the same thing.... how many photographers out there use sets, or work with set designs, etc., and what is too much to ask for? I want to set up some intricate shoots soon, but not sure what my parameters to work with are... -isis- Dec 06 05 02:15 am Link Deadly Design Make-up wrote: Speechless. Dec 06 05 07:17 am Link I jumped off some sea defence thing over some poor model so the tog could catch me "in flight" about to prey on some unsuspecting victim (Photo on portfolio). The take off was easy.... Just then landings that can be a pain in the foot!
