Warning: non-sequitur, abstract rant follows.

Just picked up Ocean Drive magazine. Didn't buy it because well... I don't really have a job BUT, it looks sweet. 500+ pages. When did they start putting out catalog-sized zines? Which brings me to my point :hypothetical: why tha hell don't I have any shoots lined up? Why don't I even have a place to shoot? Why do I live in a freezing cold environment? Where are the zillion magazines getting all their pics and why aren't I sending out submissions?

Other hot shit: John F. Cooper's Organic Portraits (MM#19505), Echo Gallery (Chicago), Winkitiki's website (MM#8781), stylist Michael Hall's work (MM#21934), my new Nokia ringtones, latexlair.com.

Ok, I feel like an underachiever now. tongue

Rhetorical, train of thought, etc. Seriously though, I sometimes do look at bodies of work and envy the energy and devotion that goes into the process and end-result. Thus, photo envy.

I get photo envy sometimes. I try not to let it get there. I would rather be appreciative of the work instead of turning it into negativity towards myself. But that is the way I am with everything else in life. I am a bit competitive, not in the cut-throat, dog-eat-dog, but in the I-should-be-better-than-this kinda way. I turn my envy into motivation and determination.
