May 09 05 07:07 pm Link Photographers should be behind the camera. Stop trying to take pictures of the picture taker! Sneaky bastards! You know who you are...with your little camera phones and pocket digital POS's. I have pics of you too! Don't make me use them! May 09 05 07:07 pm Link ? May 09 05 07:10 pm Link Only one Rule!! Remove lenz Cap!!!! May 09 05 07:11 pm Link Well for those of us that still use film the #1 rule is simple: LOAD THE CAMERA ! May 09 05 07:12 pm Link Posted by Brian Kim: Yeah!! May 09 05 07:45 pm Link Open your eyes.... and SEE May 09 05 08:50 pm Link #1 rule: make the shot the best you can. Sometimes that means "f/8 and be there" (or, these days, "f/2.8 and be there" [grin]); sometimes it's waiting hours to set up to be ready when the light's Just Right, and sometimes it's spending hours prepping a set. Everything else is mechanics. May 09 05 08:51 pm Link Don't put up other peoples photos as your own. Now you tell me! May 10 05 01:25 pm Link Rule of thirds. May 10 05 11:16 pm Link Posted by vanscottie: Yeah, what he said. lol May 11 05 01:16 am Link Using the Rule of Thirds helps produce nicely balanced easy on the eye pictures. Also, as you have to position things relative to the edges of the frame it helps get rid of ' tiny subject surrounded by vast empty space' syndrome. One last thing about the Rule of Thirds for the time being. Once you have got the hang of the Rule of Thirds you will very quickly want to break it ! Leading back to the no rule theory. May 11 05 01:02 pm Link Who gives a sh*t... Here's a rule: Rule number one,"All rules are made to be broken..." CONTROL FREAKS make up rules... That's my opinion...
