Benny,

Although I don't know you, we both know some of the same people, Michael LaPolla and Allison Brown. They both seem to like you and that's good enough for me. I have noticed one thing about you from your images and postings....you have a great sense of humor. You spend your time and your effort so other people might smile, laugh or have a better day. I wish there was something that I could say, to brighten your day, and make you smile or laugh, the way you have made me smile or laugh many times.

Unfortunately, there's nothing humorous about the loss of someone close to you. I have no joke or humor, and nothing to say that might "make it all better".  I wish there was. Perhaps you can find some comfort in knowing that your humor has touched the lives of others, strangers, people you'll never meet, and never know. That is your gift to those around you. I thank you for that and hope you'll find comfort in the memories of the good times you spent with your dad.

Athough we want to last forever, you know we never will. That just makes the good bye harder still. We're only dancin' on this earth for a short while.

Sincerely,
Mike Kelcher ~ Minnesota

Someone I "know" on another board I frequent just lost his father. I lost my grandfather 2 weeks ago. It's not the same thing, so I can only imagine the increased emotional intensity of the loss. My condolences.

I agree with everyone else, I send my thoughts and prays to you and your family. I also have lost my father and mother, and you always think of them. I can't tell you how to deal with the lost, but remember the good times and the love between the two of you.

Keep the faith!!!!

Death is the stage in which we live in the memory of others. May the fond memories of your father keep you strong and guide you throughout the rest of your days.

It never fails to bring to mind lost loved ones and I cannot read it without tears in my eyes, and yet, it never leaves me feeling sad. Words are amazing.
I like this version best.  This is an indian ceremonial prayer.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Benny,

I was a wreck with even the possibility of losing my mother, I can not fully understand what you are going through right now. I am very deeply sorry for your loss. There are really no words that anyone can say that can make this an easier time, so I am just going to offer you my love and my thoughts.
