Well here's some more recent news. No matter how old a story is it is still relevant because it brings up a lot of issues.

That is recent although I am not sure what that has to do with modeling.  I am wondering if, perhaps, you should be posting these in "Off Topic."

Beyond which, all I have to say is Ewwwwwww, as well.

I am reminded of a new model who sent me some nudes of herself about two years ago.  They were kind of amateurish but she boasted about the photographer.  I later learned that it was her thirteen year old brother shooting her nude.  She was 18 at the time.

She should've gone on MM and found a photographer in her area   wink

This has nothing to do with modelling. It is a simply another story in which we Americans need to bring into the limelight and deem "newsworthy", of which it is not. It is however, just another sad story about a troubled individual.

We can come up with every sob story news topic and turn them each into a thread here on MM, but it would really fill the place up fast with needless misery that all the local channels + newspapers already do on a daily basis.

Why?

Why? doesn't anyone on here realize that cases like this affect the photograhy industry as a whole? As I said in the minors doing lingerie, someone may take a photo they find innocent, but the authorities will not. They do prosecute ordinary people for having such photos.

How exactaly? Because it involves a camera? Because I ain't losing any work over it and I'm sure this isn't the first time something like this has happened. [read] my above post again.

Let's stop wasting braincells and discuss something of value for a change.

OK, don't worry about it just because you aren't personally affected. You could just ignore the thread. Or you could act like the people who weren't affected directly when the Nazis started killing Jews. They worked their way around to the others in due time.

Are you personally affected? Professionally or otherwise? Are you personally affected by the millions of people that starve to death every year in third world countries because of famine? And what does this have to do with Nazi's killing Jews? A mass genocide is in fact newsworthy. Making that distinction would save you from:
A. looking and sounding like an ass in a public forum and:
B. posting worthless shit in the first place.

But hey, birds of a feather.... so please, by all means, proceed sir. But my intellect will not be joining you here in this thread further because like you say... I can choose to ignore it. Bu bye.

and.... how does it affect the photography industry again.. I missed it.

Edit: nevermind. I just saw your port and I have concluded that you are a troll. Proceed.

I do shoot adult and nude photography, so yes, it might affect me. The example I gave meant that first they arrest photographers, then anyone with a camera no matter how innocent the photos maybe. You're just another selfish person on Earth with no empathy for anyone but yourself and who doesn't see how things interconnect. See ya.

So you are still trying to prove a point.  They are interesting cases, but have nothing to do with lingerie.

Here we have a case where a mother had minors take explicit nude photos of her.  She wasn't prosecuted because of the photos.  Nobody claimed them to be inappropriate.  What was found inappropriate was to have her minor children take the pictures.

I am always reminded of a line Keanu Reeves had in "Parenthood":

"In this country you have to get a license to catch a fish, but anyone can be a parent"

Some people just shouldn't be.

Actually Davis there is a link to the CAM feature that is used to report problems and problems with other MM users to the moderators on MM.

https://modelmayhem.com/contactamod.php

This allows regular members of MM to help police ourselves and each other to help clear out the riffraff that brings the mentality and the reputation of the whole site down.

Thank you and have a nice day...

Which other thread?

Ohio University prof's nude, topless photos.......
... which talks about a 3 year old case?

Photos Can Get You Into Trouble
...which was locked for not having any relevance?

15 Year Old Girl Criminally Charged For Self Abuse
...which talks about another 3 year old case, and which, if it had been current, would have had at most a marginal relationship to what a photographer or model needs to know about?

Stretch Marks
...which is about, oddly enough, the title topic?

Parents of teens lose nude-photos lawsuit
...which cited a 5 year old case?

or

Guys ,do you measure up?
...which contains ony a link to a photograph of an elephant?

You've started all of those in General Mayhem in the last few days. Which 'other thread' do you want people to read to make things clear?

If everyone acted like one, we wouldn't need any official ones, would we?

Yup.  I couldn't help but laugh at that.  It's like she wanted to goad the judge into giving her time.  Well, she did.
