Every magazine will have submission guidelines and what they require.  Of course, not all magazine accept submissions.  Some do all of their photography in-house or hire photographers to do particular shoots.  They may take your photos as an audition though.

Also, before you submit *anything* make sure you have a release signed by the model that indicates you have the rights to use the photos, and have appropriate ID as referenced in USC 2257.
