Postive or negative it is still a critique.

These threads are NOT for critiques.

Do not DO IT.

OR they will be locked.
It is about checking out someone's work.
Especially if they did not start the thread or it should be in the critique section.

Mhana moderator.

Agree I wanted to say that too...

It doesnt matter how olf you are if you like the work you do.  I was dam proud of my macaroni Christmas trees when I was young and still would be if my dog didn't eat them.  But karma came back for eating my trees in the form of explosive diahhrea for her lol.  Oh...poor doggie...

Anyways, it is all subjective hey?  The photos themselves in question don't do anything for me, but if he is happy about his work, and has people who think the same why does it matter how old he is?

I guess I could have just commented on how great I thought his work was on his page....

but something just made me want to start a thread about how much I loved his photos.

Wynn Bullock was 70 when I first met him. Imogen Cunningham was over 80. And neither were done making fine art. So how old is "to old"? PS I'm 56.

There is no age limit for photographers. I was talking about the 16 yearsold model, she looks great. But its harder to build a successful career in modeling if you are 70.

I think that the pictures are amazing.  Some people are just born with an exceptional talent.  In many cases, age is not an issue.   This kid is amazing, and better than a lot of older photographers.  Talent is talent...if you saw those photographs without knowing the age of the artist, what would you think of the work?  Whoever started this post was awesome to bring attention to a young talent such as him.    Imagine how exceptional he will be when he is older and has more experience.

Somebody get this kid some models. Not that he needs any, he could fill a book with his little sister.

When he gets some film we're all in trouble.

that style reminds me of the 60s and 70s.  The color, mood, the composition etc.

One of the many underappreciated profiles on MM.

Come on people,
Break out of your shells and go searching this site.

There is a great amount of work out there that never posts in the forums, never makes the lists of the bests but they are often better, do not use the look at me box(announcement page), or We talk jibberish page(the shout box).

They are not comment whore.  They present their work and many have real work to do.

Thank you.

The totality of MM is not represented by the hundred or so regular posters in the fora.  Or the same 15 or 20 names that pop up in the Best of.../I wanna work with/My fav_____is... threads.

Why exactly do you like those pics? What is it that you actually like?  Just curious...

I like them because they have a certain innocent nostalgic feeling to them. They are also clean and uncluttered. Besides, Polka Dots are to die for!

Being a photographer isn't all about shooting naked chicks. I think you're confused.

The noise the film advance lever makes!!!!! Are you kidding me!
You GOTTA love this kid.
How he gets images to look like those you would find in a shoebox in the top of your moms closet is wonderful.

Matt,

If you're achieving these results with a digital camera, then keep at it. I'm a film guy, but I'm old. Digital is the future, and so are you. You might want to give it a try, but you have plenty of time.

As far as models, you already have some great ones, your little sister is darling and soulful, and you don't really need professional ones, although they will come. You can find art and humanity everywhere, in anyone. Keep up the good work.

This kid probably has more talent in his pinky finger, than I have in my entire body! I'm amazed. His work is beautiful, and it's almost like he's not even trying, but still making art!
