I thought it was an interesting show.  They set up a casting for what was supposed to be a layout in Italian Vogue.  They rented a suite at a plush hotel and converted it into a studio.  They had backdrop, lights, make-up artist and a crew and publicized the shoot.

At the shoot, the models were met, photographed and treated quite nicely.  During the shoot, each model was asked if they would be willing to do topless for Italian Vogue.

All of the girls, except for one said "yes" and allowed test shots to be taken.  Finally, the last girl said "no" and they stopped the show.

Tyra came out and congratulated her for standing her ground, refusing to take her clothes off and admonishing her on how you shouldn't be shooting nude for unknown photographers.  She complimented her on bringing an escort but criticized her for going at all.  Tyra told the girl it was a fake photoshoot and she should have checked it out better.

Later, she brought her to the studio and interviewed her, again complimenting her for not taking her clothes off at a hotel shoot.

All of that is well and good, but ... the one thing that was lost was that the girl didn't refuse to do topless because she was suspicious of the photographer.  She refused to do topless because she won't do nudes period.  She made that clear on the show.

If she had been on ANTM, she would have been the girl kicked off for refusing to take her clothes off.

The point is they were looking for a girl who would catch their scam and refuse to take her clothes off.  Instead they just found a girl who wouldn't do nudes and spectacularized it to make the show.  I wonder about Tyra. She really has become a tabloid.

The whole premise was wrong.  You don't compliment a girl, on the one hand, for refusing to shoot nude with a new photographer, knowing she will never shoot nudes in any case and then kick her off the show because she refuses to shoot nudes because she never will.

The point is they were looking for a girl who would catch their scam and refuse to take her clothes off.  Instead they just found a girl who wouldn't do nudes and spectacularized it to make the show.  I wonder about Tyra. She really has become a tabloid.

Ugh.  That's either a repeat or a re-used premise, it's already come up once.
What boilerplate nonsense.

It is that time of year, maybe it was a re-run.

I think it was a re-run, but regardless.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that episode was ANTM, where girls have fits and get booted for not doing nudes.  Tyra seems to be a bit of a hypocrite.  hmm

OMG!  I just shot water out my nose!!!  Too funny!  I'm going to call someone that very soon.

On the flip side, I think Tyra has done some incredible modeling work and deserves to be recognized for that.  Now, maybe she should keep her mouth shut a little more often.  From what I've seen and read, she is extremely self-righteous. (pretty sure I spelled that wrong, but my nose hurts now and I can't think)

Here's my problem with their setup - they set up a full fake agency, had at least five or six people doing that, and then set up the hotel room with a photographer, makeup artist and another model in a robe. There was a nice portable seamless, two pro strobes, and the guy was shooting a nice SLR.

The cost to set up this "scam" was considerable.

How many "get 'em naked" photographers are going to spend this kind of money, have a makeup artist and other model in the room just to get some amateur naked?

For that kind of money, they could hire ten "legitimate" porn actresses!

If Tyra wanted this to be realistic, it would have been a single photographer unaffiliated with the "casting scam," all by himself, in a cheap room (if not his house!), with a wronkled bedsheet and a point-and-shoot.

I call BS.

I don't care for Tyra but I respect her accomplishments...she would do well to talk way less and listen way more.

You are right, there should have been wronkled sheets.

That was how it struck me.  It was all too professionally done to create the impression she was looking for.  I didn't see one camera phone on the set.

I call bullshit.

The whole thing was written by Tyra's new writers, since her old writers were fired for daring to go on strike seeking to be represented by the Writers Guild.

All the models auditioned ahead of time and were told what to say.

The girl who stood her ground was simply the one cast in that role and told what to do.

Just like all the rest of that "reality" TV crap.

Great point.

Tyra should have walked in before they took off their tops.

They were paid to take off their tops. That was the gig. That's why they were there.

Come on people. It's not real. It's fake. It's made up. It's written. It's cast. It's rehearsed. It's produced. It's directed. And everyone falls for it.

That wouldn't make for good television and that is what this is all about. If she really "cared" for the models as she says she wouldn't have let it go that far.

not sure the program shows the same episode in all areas & time zones on the same day; appears to vary as to where you are, what time you're on, etc. ...

I thought that was interesting.  But then she makes them all get naked for ANTM.  But since all she was doing was trying to prove a point, you woudl have thought she would have stopped them before they got that far.

Why would anyone waste a moment watching this woman's show. I have never seen a more self-centered narcissist (I know that's redundant, but that's bad she is).
Unless of course, you watch for the spectacle of her titanic ego on display.
