I respect your liberal, "tree-hugging" approach to this, and your hobby, but what was meant as it was clearly written is that professionalism is not a piece of paper it is about attitude.

There is not just one world...

The reason for this is because "internet" models have nothing to lose by being flakes.  Where as agency models lose contracts, singings and paying jobs.  I have yet to have a agency (professional) model even be late much less flake!  Professional is not a piece of paper is it attitude and respect.  I implore models to look up the definition of "professionalism" and see how close you come to it?

Um so by your defintion internet models do not get paying jobs, contracts, signings???

No that is not at all what I am saying.  What I clearly said is that the difference is about "professionalism, attitude and respect" not anything other than that.  I was saying that with these attributes then the definiton between Internet models and agency models no longer matter.  LOL

big_smile  G'morning, Jay!  Thanks for the chuckle - in the land of the free and the home of the brave ('cause OMP's new model from TN has some cajones, doesn't she/he?).

What I hate about space suits is that there is no zipper!!! How are you supposed to go pee quickly if there's no zipper?

Now if I can just find away onto the launch pad, I am sure once they see me, they will know I am serious and let me onboard.

Where was any indication given that you or anyone else were talking exclusively about commercial modeling?  You said, "...I said there are 2 kinds of models..." not, "...I said there are 2 kinds of non-art, non-hobbyist models..."

I had this conversation with a model and she did not like it when I said there are 2 kinds of models:

1)  Professional models, aka agency models

2)  Internet models, those who were told they should be modeling but really shouldn't

I would amend this to:

1) Models who act professionally; and

2) Those who were told they should be modeling but really shouldn't.

Whether they get gigs for themselves on the Internet or through their agents is irrelevant.

It is the same way with photographers. Think how models feel.

There are two sides of the street.

Actually you need a lot of money to get the Russians to fly you into space.

I was not a photographer the first time I took a picture.  I became a photographer the moment I felt the desire to photograph.  I may be good; I may be bad but a photographer nevertheless.  If a person is chosen to be my subject they become a model, if only for a brief period of time.  They don’t need to be pretty.  They don’t need to be thin.  That is only a requirement for some specific genres.  Most think modeling is so so easy.  It is not. Like everything else there are good and bad.  The desire and effort is what determines which.

I agree. Couldn't have said it better myself.

*sets off to become the greatest model to model anything...ever*
