I began amateur modeling about one year ago after I competed in my first Miss Washington USA Pageant. The pageant experience was truly perspective altering, as being a contestant forced me-- for the first time-- to be comfortable in my own skin. Modeling has furthered my pageant experience by reinforcing body positivity and evoking self-love. It has also allowed for me to creatively collaborate with many talented photographers throughout the greater Seattle area. I now use modeling as a platform in which I can continue to promote body positivity as well as endorse the normalization of racial minority beauty and alternative beauty through my work. Model Mayhem has shown to be one of the most effective methods of networking in the modeling community, and that is exactly why I believe being a part of it would greatly help me to further my career and personal goals.
