About Me

* * * * DeviantArt has the highest quality and most complete version of my portfolio * * * *
https://www.deviantart.com/the-artists-eyes

WHO AM I?
I am a 34-year-old non-professional yet highly passionate, mostly self-taught, and sometimes enormously ambitious artist, aspiring novelist, and podcaster (check out my podcast episode on Michelangelo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUwvvaW8J7s&t=313s)

HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN DRAWING?
I have been drawing my whole life. I did cartoons and comics for most of my younger years. I have focused solely on graphite pencil/charcoal drawings of the female form for the past six years. I am looking to branch out beyond the figure in 2023.

WHAT ARE MY ARTISTIC GOALS?
I seek to create beauty out of beauty. To me, there is nothing on this earth more beautiful, more lovely or more artistically inspiring than a woman, and I want to make art that communicates how much I love, cherish and adore women in all their mystery, glory and wonder (normally I'd express it in words, but, as I learned a long time ago, art expresses what words can't).

WHY SHOULD A MODEL WORK WITH ME?
- I respect the fact that modeling is often a model's only source of income, and I think price haggling over rates is a waste of everybody's time. If a model is willing to negotiate, that's great, but if I can't afford a model's rate, that's the end of the money discussion
- I am an excellent communicator
- I care about a model's comfort more than anything else
- I believe models are fellow artists and collaborators, not props
- I'm here to make art and learn, not to date or hook up. I'm an artist with a purpose, not a guy with a camera
- I'm not comfortable with and dislike sexual/erotic poses and won't ask a model to perform them
- I believe the only time it's appropriate to touch a model is when I say "Nice to meet you!" and I hold out my hand for a handshake. However, I've received hugs after a session before, and hugs are always welcome
- I don't want a model's phone number unless a model gives it freely for a session
- I always send digital copies of finished artworks to a model for her to add to her portfolio or post on social media
- I have a sense of humor
- I am a quality conversationalist
- I provide snacks

WILL THE MODELS YOU'VE WORKED WITH BEFORE CLAIM THAT THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS TRUE?
Yes.

DO I WORK FOR HIRE?
Yes. Rates for commissions are negotiable depending on what you're looking for.

WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO SAY?
That about sums it up. To all my fellow artists in the meantime, keep learning, keep creating, keep loving and keep making this world a better place with your creations.

"I had an amazing opportunity to be a life model for Quigley. It was such a great session. Everything just felt natural and easy. He is really an excellent communicator! . We had a remote session with time difference in 14 hours, but it was not a problem at all as it was easy to communicate and make plans with artist. The atmosphere was really safe as well. Highly recommend this artist to work and create with!" Read less

"I worked with him remotely on a drawing session using a range of poses shooting & then drawing for about 10 mins each. We have worked with some of the same models & I would for sure pose for him again as well as suggest him to others. The table and pillows helped in the corner of the room to rest on when holding the shapes while giving a clear background for less distraction. Thanks, all the best! kind regards." Read less

"A very fun experience working with Quigley! He was easy going with the poses, started off prepared for our zoom session straight away and made sure I was comfortable. We had tons to talk about as we both have many interests in art and life and I look forward to working together again! Also a very professional and overall kind person. Grateful for this opportunity to co-create something beautiful!" Read less

"I really enjoy the sessions I've had with Quigley. He'd hire me for long sessions which is sometimes daunting for 1-1 settings (even on zoom!), but he is so easy to chat with! We could write novels out of our discussions, and I've come out of the session with some really cool book and movie suggestions. As for the actual work, Quigley is very understanding about the hardships of life modeling, and is very encouraging to find a comfortable pose, or to tweak poses to make them more comfortable. He is patient for possible technical problems (woops!), and produces beautiful art. I can't wait to see the finished results from our session (as he has a large composition he is working on!)." "I had a blast posing for Quigley, his communication is incredible, he goes above and beyond to make the model comfortable. It was easy to sit back and hold a pose and just have an easy conversation while he sketched. I highly recommend posing for Quigley if you get the chance!" Read less
