About Me

To produce what multiple reviewers have called one of the best titles of this generation took a level of passion, creativity, and commitment that few people understand and even fewer ever get to experience. Just in terms of work hours alone you are looking at multiple years of twelve plus hour days, often six or seven days a week, and the stress on your mind, body and relationships is continuous and enormous. So to make it through that process with your most important relationships and body not just intact, but stronger than ever, is extremely difficult. And to make it through that process with a time consuming and creatively demanding hobby like photography also not only intact, but actually advanced on many levels is probably a sign that you’ve discovered a true passion that you owe yourself to invest more time and energy into.

I work in a very challenging, competitive and creative industry making AAA console games (and you’d be surprised how much overlap there is between the kind of games we make and photography and film; from lighting, framing and posing of characters and scenes, to matching imagery to narrative and mood, to editing and workflow, to post processing and FX, etc.), but after I’ve finished my work, and after I’ve taken care of my family, friends, and my own health, I simply love to take photos. And my photographic passion is capturing people at their best. From portrait, to fashion, to just standing back with a zoom lens and getting that perfect candid shot of someone totally engaged in a conversation or laughing along with a friend, I am continuously flattered when over and over again people have changed their FB profile picture to one that I took.

I am still an amateur, and photography may always be just an extremely fun hobby that I’m passionate about, but that does not mean that I can’t become one of the best of the best out there. I know that sounds a little crazy, but I’m actually serious. What I’ve learned from many other successful creative and professional endeavors is that you have to work hard, ask the right questions, and have a bit of natural talent (as well as probably be a bit lucky), but at the same time you must always be learning, having fun, and very importantly working and collaborating with others who share the same mindset as you so that you can improve yourselves together. That’s why I’ve come here to Model Mayhem, to find other passionate people to work with (make-up artists, other photographers, and models), learn from, teach, and grow together.
