Born August 23, 1989, as twenty-two year old Fashion Marketing& Management student, Matthew is focusing on a Bachelor Science in Fashion Marketing and Management at the Art Institute of California- Orange County. Before going into fashion, he pursued another dream that was far from clothing, a childhood dream of becoming a Wildlife Veterinarian. He went straight into a Cal-State in Northern California from high school to study Animal Science. He attended the university for two years, and as he progressed, he began to realize in his second year, he felt miserable and not happy, that he was “just going to class”. So after speaking to his oldest brother, about what he could do, not too long of a wait, he quickly realized a fashion study was the perfect choice! Not knowing what was always in front of him, was that he always loved putting his clothes together…the night before school, for fun (leisure time) and weeks before an event would happen. After searching for fashion schools, the second school he found was A.I.O.C, and immediately liked it and is still enjoying it.
His hobbies are camping, body boarding, deep sea fishing, going to the movies (“the best entertainment”, he says.), seeing theatre plays, art museums, restaurant hopping (dining at various restaurants). Matthew is a very spontaneous individual, in his attitude and lifestyle, which gives him a great sense of confidence, honor and respect. Some music he enjoys listening to is alternative bands, jazz blues, a few hip-hop and R&B signers and even foreign signers. One great hobby in the fashion industry is modeling. He says “It’s a way to present, act and live the merchandise. Because when you live the clothes, the audience will believe it and will want it have it.” Matthew has a great passion for Ralph Lauren. He understands Ralph’s creativity, drive, motivation and focus in his clothing and work and says that “his clothing is exactly like my life”. It’s of excellence, wealth, sophistication, properness, greatness, class, and clean/fresh. In the near future, he will start his own line of elegant boxer briefs for men. Since it’s his niche and that the underwear industry isn’t being conquered. He is an entrepreneur and whatever job(s) comes along, he’ll pursue with a conquering mentality. He quotes, “life is easy, and the best of the best is out there for everyone to grab, so why not go straight for the best?”
