The project is about showing the beauty of diversity through a variety of lovely models portrayed in classic pinup style. The purpose of the Project is to provide a unique marketing tool for those involved, create gorgeous photographs and educate others about the history of the pinup. You can never judge someone by the way they look on the outside.

There is no better way to explain the purpose of this project than to let the words of its creator do the talking,

"I didn't know if ya'll might be looking for material for articles or spreads but I wanted to let you know about a Project that I've been hosting that has taken off like popcorn in a hot buttered skillet! The Project is called The Diversity Pinup Project which is focused on women of all walks of life, all cultures and all sizes being portrayed positively in vintage fashion. I launched the Project to allow serious models to get quality photos for their portfolios that are unique and classy as well as provide a unique marketing tool for participating photographers, hair stylists, makeup artist and wardrobe stylists. A love of everything vintage, a passion for history and lots of long nights have turned out a dedicated community photography project that has also educated others on the influence that women of color have had on art and style throughout history. I wanted this to be a group effort that got people talking and provided excellent opportunities for everyone involved. This has become a marvelous networking tool for the participants as well as a beautiful series of artistic photographs that has gotten everyone wanting to see more." - Ellie Retrophilia

This group is interested in networking with Models, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists, Clothing Designers and other Photographers.

We are in permanent search for experienced or promising models looking to build their professional portfolios or who would like to update them. We want to bring models, makeup artists, hair stylists and photographers together on a unique collaborative local art project.

Looking for photographers that would like to add beautiful and unique photos to their portfolios. We do creative photos with concepts in pin-up, rockabilly, fashion and modeling photography. We rent locations and studios for professional photo shoots. Most of our workshops are on Saturdays. The cost would be for photographers and models coming to a shoot to help pay studio rent and Makeup Artists. The rates are affordable.
