About Me

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors from Michigan State University, studied painting in Florence, Italy, and was classically trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. My artwork has been described as "dripping with raw emotion and vibrant color" by the LA Alternative Press. I recieed the Award of Merit from the "Expressions West 2004" exhibition at the Coos Art Museum in Oregon and winner of the Fred Kraus Prize at the "22nd Annual Faber Birren National Color Award Show" in Stanford, Connecticut.

Credit Notes

As we weave and unweave our bodies, day after day, so I weave and unweave my image. The figure is vainly captured then released, forth flowing, wending back; creating new meaning in juxtaposition. "Double exposures" and forms dissolving into or suggesting another, become scenes recognizable as physical exchange but difficult to distinguish. These intimate paintings and drawings literally blur the lines between organic pleasure and moral prohibition. The viewer is confronted by body parts and asked to forge new relationships and inferences; an uncharted territory.
