I was born in Mexico but have been in the U.S. for 17 years and I love it! I currently live in Las Vegas (sin city) people from other parts of the country always wanna know if I like living here and my response is always yes! Absolutely. There is always work in Las Vegas for what I do and it is such a fun place to live in. Ive been interested in makeup since I was a child. When I was in kinder garden I attended a catholic private school in Mexico. One day I took a pallet of makeup that to school that belonged to my mother without her permission of course! At the end of the day I had a line of little girls getting their makeup done by me, obviously they all looked like clowns however in my eyes my work was fabulous I was just so attracted all the dramatic bright colors!! according to me , my creation couldn't be better. When my father arrived he was furious to say the least. He would always tell me to leave my mothers makeup alone and he forvide me to play with it. He grounded me and I was devastated, I cried the whole ride home and I didn't understand why was something I loved so much so bad!!! I grew up but never lost my passion for color and makeup, I would literally miss the bus to high school because there was no way I was leaving without my makeup looking absolutely perfect! I hated school and was actually very depressed because I wasn't doing anything creative. During the summer vacation after my freshman year I desided the hell with this I'm not going back to high school and I dropped out. I got my GED and enrolled in cosmetology school. My parents were not pleased with my decision so they cut me off financially and said they would not pay for my schooling I was on my own. Well being the stubborn determined individual that I am I got a job and paid for my training. I had my degree in cosmetology but didn't do much with it for years because I auditioned for a go go dancing job at the newest night club located inside at Palms hotel and casino in Las Vegas and I nailed it! In no time I was considered one of the best go go dancers in town at the time and let me tell you I was having a blast!!! Not to mention the pay was great. I also got in to modeling and made friends with a few photographers that were interested in shooting me for their portfolio most of the time they allowed me to do my own makeup and also doing makeup for fellow models and creating the wardrobe, theme and location of the photoshoots. It was then I realized I enjoyed being behind the seen a lot more than modeling and it allowed me to be creative unlike modeling and cosmetology. I started calling my self a makeup artist instead of a model and got hired for jobs, but being the perfectionist that I am I never thought my work was good enough. I saved my money for a couple of years until I was able to afford going to Miami Florida to train with Buntricia Bastian, one of the best makeup artist and educator in the country! I was now an official and certified makeup artist, I couldn't be happier!! a year went by and I was still hungry for more so I created my own makeup called Jade Cosmetics Line. I opened a small beauty shop in Las Vegas with a business parter, she was the hair stylist and I was the aesthetician/makeup artist. Like all creative people I became bored with skin care, I started hating doing facials and waxing ugh! Makeup was simply my passion. I was fortunate that SiYo salon in Las Vegas picked up my product Jade Cosmetics Line. I was ecstatic I literally cried. Called my family and told them the good news but the best part was telling my father see dad I proved you wrong and became more than just a high school drop out! instead I became an entrepreneur doing what I do best wich is MAKEUP!!!!! I am always taking classes to stay updated with the newest stuff and I'm a firm believer in the fact that I can always learn more and improve my craft. I recently took some intense body paint and air brush makeup classes, I'm fascinated with all the endless ways of creating looks and colors! A week after the training I purchased an airbrush system along with body paints and brushes. I am currently practicing to perfect body and face airbrush paint. I've team up with a girl that shares my vision, we practice to perfect different themes and looks.
