What is destiny anyways? What we're meant to do? Our 'calling' so to speak? I have wondered whether this pursuit of academics we are trained to value from the time we are first thrown into a classroom, all those eager little minds thriving on the intellectual, really IS our key to success, or furthermore, happiness.

I have to say that in the past 26 years, I have been pursuing this apparent academic stairway to heaven and have yet to find what I'm looking for. However, I have always found comfort in the arts; photos that capture the passion and commitment of the artist; lyrics that provide a window to the soul of the musician; and prose providing meaning to the meaningless, each with our own individual interpretation.

For me, modelling has not only given me a voice, but allowed me to 'hear' others. I think that we all want to express ourselves in our own unique way and I feel that photography speaks to the world. I have worked with only a few professional photographers but I feel that what they have given me is priceless. A personal portrayal of who I am or what my place is in the world.

I want to be able to reach out to someone with a photo; to make them feel the emotions being portrayed or have that photo speak to them on a more personal level. Art should be able to lift you up; and I have never loved anything more than being a part of that. Maybe that is destiny; being a part of something bigger than yourself.

Fashion allows us to express ourselves and our individuality and I believe it provides us with a small window of truth to who we really are. I'm looking for the opportunity to collaborate with other creative minds looking to put something different out there, or say something powerful.
