My name is Rick Gates. I'm a Photographer/Videographer.

Unfortunately, so much of what I see in photography today is derivative. Social media platforms across the Internet are filled with photographers who continually emulate and replicate the same looks and trends in photography and post-processing. After a while you can't tell one photographer's work from another. That is not me. I bring my many years of experience in art, design, photography, and video to each shoot to capture, create, and compose photos that are unique and, perhaps, even "feel" cinematic.

I edit with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and take a minimalist approach to post-processing as I try first to capture the best of everything in-camera with the ultimate goal of keeping things as close to real, natural, and beautiful as I can with only minor imperfections and distractions removed (e.g., stray hairs, frayed clothing, lint/fuzz, blemishes, etc.). Also, as a model, your having good and healthy skin and hair makes my job so much easier.

So, if quality and uniqueness are important to you, please consider shooting with me. I will do my best to exceed your expectations and make your shoot an enjoyable experience both during and well after it's over.

Looking to work with regional or traveling models, actors, fashion designers/stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, and various other artists.

All that being said, I will ultimately consider all TF* work based on how I feel about working with you, but I am trying to make this my full-time gig, so paid work is important if I want to keep my business.
