I conceived and designed the picture, made the camera shutter and aperture settings and decided when the shutter would be released as well as starring in the pic.
It's a crop of me bursting out @ age 21 at Minyon Falls in the mountains in the Byron Bay hinterland Australia.
This pic was shot on film, as is, with no touchups or after effects. I got the idea for the shot. My GF at the time wasn't experienced with SLR camera's so I lookined around and I saw a tourist with her own SLR camera and I asked her to take a picture for me. I set my camera to ASA100 f12 and chose the longest shutter speed I could get with a decent exposure as I planned the blurred water around my head which was created by me shaking me head back and forth.
The first take I could tell she blew it so I got out of the water and went up and explain the sequence of events again with a slight difference so she was more prepared. When I was submerged I stuck my finger out of the water , 1, 2, jump on 3 so she was ready this time. I didn't get her name but I am thankful to her that, as instructed, she release the shutter just as I started shaking my head back and forth extremely fast. The long shutter speed meant it created a blurred halo of water around my head.
