August 09, 2009 9:11pm Aaaargh - I would kill to have you and this setup. Top picture, that black dog is kind of dominating and you would have to let him support you rather than blow you out of the shot. If you're playing soft then I think you'd have to get closer and put him in a sort of guard image. It's his stance anyway
If you're playing stronger you've got to out muscle him (for want of a better expression) I think you'd have to get closer to the camera than you are and take a more aggressive angular stance.
It's either a kind of 'what's happening? and the dog is protecting you or a 'what's happening? and you're holding him back sort of thing.
The other guy shouldn't be there, again IMO. Damn this is awkward. Much harder than 'lovely shot' But gosh get him to re shoot these whatever it takes. If you shoot with just one dog and try a few different things you could blow the doors off with this idea. Google 'fonssagrives elephants' for an example... but gosh PLEASE do this again!!! You are perfect for commercial shots and his lighting and sense of color is superb.
July 14, 2009 9:43pm I'm the proud poppa to two Great Danes myself so I just had to comment on this one! You look so at ease and natural with these giants. Beautiful job!
