Hello!

I recently joined MM and I am excited to network with other models, photographers, and makeup artists. I am fairly new to the industry, but I can say with absolute confidence that modelling is something I truly love to do and I am happy to say that my first photo shoots and runway show were not only successful but extremely enjoyable and educational experiences.

To introduce myself a little: I am 18 years old, F, living in Toronto, Ontario. I am an alternative model and am signed with the agency Valt Models (www.valtmodels.com; @valtmodels on instagram). I have long, wavy blue hair (my natural colour is dirty blonde) and green eyes. My ears are stretched to 3"4 of an inch and I have my nose pierced, as well as my belly button (my other piercings are retired). I have some small tattoos (but I plan to get many more!).

I am extremely eager to build my portfolio in the following genres: Art, Cosplay, Editorial, Fashion, Glamour, Hair/Make Up, Lingerie, Pin Up (I adore the pin up aesthetic), Runway, and Swimwear. Earlier today, I modeled for photographer Nicole Zieger for a Fine Art photo shoot; we shot outdoors in a forest, and aimed for a dreamlike, surrealistic mood. I am excited to receive the finished photographs and post them to MM!

I'm quite friendly, so don't hesitate to send me a message if you would like to work together, or just want to say hi. I will add here that I do not shoot nudes, purely because I do not feel that I am ready and therefore not able to perform to the best of my ability and produce high quality work. It is something I intend to look into in the future.

I'm a little out of your area so as much as I'd be happy to shoot with you it's probably not going to happen

However if you put up a casting and/or an availability notice I'm sure you will get positive responses. Also respond to any suitable casting calls posted by others in your area.

This isn't dating so be proactive and don't just wait for photographers to contact you first, take the initiative and make use of the browse feature to find suitable local photographers and message them.

Three good ways to network are:

Post an availability notice letting people know that you are available (under the casting/travel tab). This is for when you want to charge money. You can offer trade as well.

Search for Casting Calls in your area based on criteria you select. Post a Casting Call letting people know about an idea you have and want to put into a work of art. This is for when you are willing to pay other people. You can offer trade as well.

Official Casting Call Rules - Read

Browse for photographers in your area and leave comments on images you like, send a friend request or message. Start a list of photographer's photos that you think are top notch for photographers in your area. This can become something of a Rolodex. Make sure that you select the Advanced Options and select an appropriate Logged in within:. I typically use 30 days, but you may want people who respond faster. Otherwise you will get photographers who haven't logged in in over a year. There are a lot of inactive accounts.
