Hello hello smile

My name is Aurie!

My question today is, is it okay to do shoots with different photographers, but wear the same costume/outfit?

Thanks for taking the time to read,

Aurie smile

I think it's OK as long as the outfit is not too distinctive. If it's just regular clothes or a nice dress/swimsuit etc. then that's fine, but if you're talking about some kind of 'costume' - eg. a clown outfit or schoolgirl outfit - then you should definitely talk to photographers about it before showing up in it as their only option!

Some models do have a particular dress or outfit that becomes popular with the photographers they work with though, and when that happens I hear girls complaining that every photographer just wants to shoot them in "that dress".... but generally speaking it's probably best to try to give them lots of options by bringing plenty of different outfits to shoots.

FYI, you can search for advertised jobs and trade/TF opportunities (casting calls for models) and post an Availability Notice to make others aware of your availability for work/trade/TF here:-

That's why we have to keep on the ball and source new wardrobe all the time! Even though some photographers think theres not much market for models, with wardrobe! There,is if course..

To the Op.

I have a basic rule. If it gets published, I use it less or not at all for publication submission. If it's languishing in a photographers port, of course I will use it again.

You can always style it differently. Hair up not down, different make up and hosiery/footwear, accessories etc and it can look different.

But it's the nature of the beast that people want to copy ideas. And if they see your wardrobe by a photographer but think they could have done it better or different they will want to shoot it. But at least it's better they book us with said wardrobe piece than just source the wardrobe themselves. Though I even now end up with me not modelling due to Uni work commitments for a while, with photographers asking to hire my stuff or borrow it for other models. So anyone who thinks model wardrobe isn't important is barking.

But yes dont overuse stuff and wear it with a different twist, wigs, in different context setting etc.

Photographer style will make them look different anyway. Lost count how.many times these gloves have been in shoots. Getting on for 50.

And borrowed for 9 other model shoots and runway shows.

I even have a group of 200 fans male and female  of those gloves ha ha.

H Aurie.

You asked, "Is it okay to do shoots with different photographers, but wear the same costume/outfit"?

I don't see why not. If you are going to TFP with a few photographers, and use the same outfit I would just be careful that your port is not loaded with too many photos of the same outfit.

Take the best photos of each outfit, regardless of which photographer shot it, and just use that outfit once or twice in your whole port!

Repeats are boring. Use ONLY the BEST photos!

Good luck, and welcome to ModelMayhem!  smile

Absolutely. Unless a photographer specifically pays you never to be photographed in the same outfit again, yes...your private wardrobe is yours to obtain work...repeatedly if you so choose.
