I'm a mature, responsible pro photographer and videographer with specific skills in portraiture, architecture, editorial/ travel, and products.  I shoot both on location and in the Portland, OR area.

I have a passion for working with light to bring out different facets of a model's personality. I thrive on photographing different cultures, ethnicities, genders, and orientations. I place a strong emphasis on models being comfortable in working with me in an atmosphere of mutual agreement. We'll work hard, laugh, chat and create some great art.

I own high end professional camera equipment, lighting and software,, which provide among the highest quality images available.

In terms of photographing models, I'm looking for either gender in diverse outfits ranging from tux to fine art or somewhere in between on that spectrum. Individuals with a large wardrobe are of greatest interest. Ideally (but not exclusively),  I'd like to shoot two people (any gender mix) who are comfortable in physical proximity to each other OR individuals who have occupational related clothing (nursing, doctor, construction, utility worker, etc). I specialize in producing over a 2-4 hour shoot a large variety of looks, lighting setups, backgrounds, poses, outfits, moods, etc.

I offer the following arrangements for models.  If you want TFCD with a one week image turnaround, I'm not your photographer.  You WILL get our images, but not rapid fire.  If you have some timing flexibility, we'll have a great timing working together.  For those who want top quality images very rapidly, I offer a $329 session at locations we select.  Picking "a few best images out quickly" doesn't work, as editing down the images takes a lot of time, and my choices don't necessarily match yours. Recently, I have changed to booking model shoots only when I know my paid work is going to be slower.    I do and have hired models for commercial shoots as needed, typically with a specific gender, age, and/or look required.

I work best with models who make and keep an appointment. Who aren't body phobic and who can move quickly through a pile of clothing changes while on the backdrop if need be.  I am extremely open to themes or outfits that models want me to capture and add to the model's portfolio. I come in with ideas, but I will photograph your ideas too. If you want to do body paint imagery or pose on your motorcycle, that's fine. It's also fine if that's not you - just let me know.

Modeling is an investment of your time. I always recommend that models can maximize their investment by bringing a very diverse wardrobe to a shoot with me. It will help you show range in themes, looks, and get you hired. Take the time and invest in used clothing that you can use for shoots if your wardrobe is limited to one narrow aspect of the spectrum from formal to dressy to casual. Just jeans and tshirts will box you into one look and limit receptivity to hiring you. So take the time to go to the following stores and get used clothing that will give you some new looks: Buffalo Exchange, Goodwill, Salvation Army, Red Light Clothing Exchange, and Hollywood Vintage.
