Hello, my name is Elizabeth. I love Jim Henson, H.R.Giger, Rick Baker, Spectral Motion and Annie Leibovitz to name just a few great modern artists in various fields.

Background

I was trained by Cirque du Soliel chief event make-up designer and world famous body painter Jinny Houle (Jinny) and have been body painting since January 2008. I am also a photographer and digital retoucher/artist.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Drama Major, Film and English minors) and have studied all sorts of photographic, art and fashion styles and have designed sets, costumes and full cast, full body fantasy make-up for a number of live theatre shows. I have also directed two plays. I studied Special Effects Make-Up and Prosthetics.

Shooting

I do both air brush and brush and sponge style body painting and SFX make-up.

I’m looking to selectively test with models, photographers, hair stylists, mua’s, clothing designers and other industry professionals. Depending on the project I may want to charge a kit fee to cover expenses. For commercial projects I expect payment.
I only paint people who are 18 years or older unless we're only painting and shooting from the neck up.

Photographers

My preference is for lush mis-en-scene, concept driven and/or digitally enhanced photographs- pictures that tell a story and entrap the eye.. in other words lots of planning. Check my lists to see the sort of pictures that I want to create. I'm also a complete location nut.

I'm a photographer myself so what I'm looking for are people who can do what I can't or bring a strong concept. I also loke to get my own shots in at non pay shoots.

Models

I love models who like to act, dance or have any circus training- performers with skills and people who can shed their self consciousness and comunicate with their bodies. I do a lot of directing at shoots that I organise and I’m a trained actor and director so I respect the process and how important it is to be in the right frame of mind to perform well.  I always want my models to be comfortable and understand that different people have different comfort zones. I have a FAQ sheet that  can send to model’s I’ll be working with so if you’ve never been painted you know what to expect- just remind me to send it. Don't be afraid to ask questions, I'm happy to answer them.

I have no preference when it comes to eye colour, hair colour or length, ethnicity, gender, height or body type so long as you fit the concept. What I look for is good communication with the lens and body awareness.

Clear non alergic skin is important. I also can't paint over hair, so keep in mind I can only paint areas that are smooth- so some shaving can be necessary depending on the design breif.

All models must be 18 or over. unless we're just shooting your face.
