ABOUT HER:

Originally from Brazil, as a former athlete, sports and fitness is something that has been part of her life since a very young age. As a devoted athlete, she represented her city in various tournaments. Always very successful and competitive, she conquered many medals in several sporting championships such as volleyball, handball, soccer and track and field events. While growing up in Brazil she also participated in beauty pageants and won many local pageants. When she turned seventeen years old, Leonela was selected by a modeling agency and moved away from her family, when she realized the negative impact of starvation that modeling was causing to her health and life, she decided to go back home, joined the gym and began to take better care of her health again. Leonela moved to United States in 2003 with many dreams but since she had no family here and didn't speak the language, she had a difficult time going after her goals. She learned English as fast as she could to be able to study more about her new home and blend in with the new surroundings, paving away the path for achieving her goals. She began to get involved in sports activities again becoming more involved in fitness and nutrition. Within time Leonela's health and body started to show great improvements and opportunities in the fitness industry started to come her way. She became a personal trainer, with goals of helping and motivating other to achieve a healthier lifestyle.
