My name is Cristian Calderon, I'm a tintype photographer working in Amsterdam.

A tintype is a unique and captivating form of portraiture that dates back to the mid-19th century. This process involves creating images on a thin sheet of metal coated with a light-sensitive emulsion. Each tintype is handcrafted, capturing a one-of-a-kind, lasting impression that feels like a beautiful artifact from the past.

Unlike digital photography, tintypes are made using large-format cameras and vintage lenses, which give each photograph a distinctive, timeless quality with rich details and an unmistakable, vintage aesthetic. The slight imperfections and variations in each image are part of the charm, making every tintype an irreplaceable work of art.
