OK, I’m so frustrated with live model's hap hazard intermittent attempts at coordinating shoots, last second cancellations and just plain old failure to show that I’m wondering if I should just fully commit to my computer rendered 3-d models and bypass the constant hassle of working with live models.

To keep me sane and with tongue firmly in cheek I decided to start this thread and elicit pros and cons for going one way or another.

I’ll start…

Pro to working with 3-d rendered models – They can hold a contorted pose over a flaming pit of lava while maintaining a convincing smile and eye contact with the camera.
Con– It takes a 150hrs of rendering to get their hair to blow in the wind.

Pro to working with a live model – They typically have hair that blows easily in the wind.
Con – The hair in the wind trick only works when they show up!

But if you don't get to hang with naked chicks, what's the point?

3-D model pros:
- Get rid of that annoying escort with a click and the delete key
- Really don't eat anything
- Non-nude, partial nude, semi nude, and full nude -> 1 rate $0
- Don't like their hair color/length...change it in seconds

Real model pros:
- Have cool tastes in music sometimes
- Really don't eat anything
- Warm to the touch
- You can talk to them (well...some of them)

3-D model cons:
- Rendering time longer than editing a billboard in photoshop on a 386 with 2 megs of RAM
- One misplaced vector key and they get all in a tizzy
- Can't return them after you've broken the seal on the box

Real model cons:
- No "Off" button
- One word... Drama
- Unreliable transportation

What he said!! Especially fun are the ones that "won't pose nude" then somehow are not wearing any clothes! You NEVER get that with 3d models.

It’s OK with me if some people want to play with paper dolls.  I’ve been playing with live dolls nearly seventy years and plan to continue to do so. None ever gave me a problem I couldn’t handle.  Besides they’re so much more fun and they have real curves, not make believe curves.
