About Me![]() If you are the spouse or immediate family of L Bass and would like to have this profile hidden from view, please contact us and we will honor that request Here's one for ya... After swinging a camera for well over 40 years, I was inspired to enter my first photo contest... ever. Here's the result. I'm afraid to push my luck, so I think I'll quit while I'm ahead! LOL! Thank you so much for your votes! ![]() ![]() http://www.modelmayhem.com/contests/potd18/female/preview/29458 I appreciate you taking the time to visit my profile and portfolio. Here are some things you should know... (Please read this before contacting me about a shoot) Me: I got my first camera in the mid-60's (I still shoot with that camera) and have been shooting pretty steady since the mid-70's. I will generally come to a shoot armed with a sense of humor. I'm retired and unlike many of the young guns, I'm not here to gain credibility, see naked girls, call myself a 'model photographer', or build my port. Been there, done that. I'm here to do what I enjoy and to help others along the way. Pretty simple. Post-Production: I don't use Photoshop, so if you are wanting to sprout wings, have flames coming out of your nostrils, look like a Bengal tiger or look 40 pounds thinner... I'm not your guy. I use lenses, filters, lighting and camera technique. I recently learned how to touch up a zit or an out-of-place hair, but that's about it. What you see is pretty much what came out of my camera, so don't be asking for miracles. I'm a photographer... not a magician. Rates: My rates are WAY variable. As in: am I hauling a truckload of equipment, wardrobe, props and accessories 4 hours each way to shoot you because you need to build your port? Or, on the other end of the spectrum... are you a world-class travelling model coming to my home/studio at my request because I like your style? I'm not opposed to doing trade work if your look, attitude and style will benefit us both... and if you ask real nice ![]() Travel: I often travel to Austin, Houston and sometimes Shreveport. If you are in one of these areas and believe my work will benefit your port or career, let me know and we'll try to work something out. Escorts: You are more than welcome to bring an escort with you as long as they are listed in the Yellow Pages under 'Escorts.' At least with that amount of credibility, they are not as likely to disrupt or distract from a shoot, or steal my stuff. Escorts that are not listed are welcome to drop you off at the shoot and pick you up when the shoot is over. I don't have room for 'extras' to hang out in the shooting area. And somehow... I just can't feel comfortable turning my back on a total stranger while I try to devote 100% of my efforts in the other direction. References: This part is easy. Contact anyone on my friends list. If they are on there... I've worked with them thru MM. I'm sure you can find at least one that will say nice things about me ![]() Friend Requests: Although I appreciate the notion of sending me an unsolicited/unexplained friend request, I have chosen to only add people I have worked with personally. It's simple.... If I have worked with you, I'll add you. If I haven't, I won't. It's not a numbers game for me, thank you. Flakes: This is easy. Flake once... you won't get another chance with me. I will block you, talk bad behind your back and do my best to spread the word that you are worthless as a model. It's really pretty simple. If you flake on me, I want everyone to know. If I flake on you, I would expect the same in return. Latest News: It changes from day to day, so if you know me... you already know the latest news;) To quote Mr. Neil Snape from a forum post I read on 02/10/14... "It is always a bigger risk to engage amateurs, than an experienced model that will not let you down." Well said, Neil ![]() US Flag Counter [ Added 8-1-12 ] International Flag Counter [ Added 8-1-12 ] Credit Notes
