About Me
Good day. This is Carney Malone's alter ego interviewing Carney Malone. To prepare for this interview I spoke to several photographers in your area. They all said that you were were an arrogant pompous ass,
Your point being? OK. I don't wish to belabor this point. Carney, tell us a little about yourself. I presently reside in the circle of Hell Dante neglected to visit. I live in a decrepit house in a boring town in the depressing Hudson Valley. I now am retired. I was a farmer, garbage man, janitor, clerk, waiter, dish washer, computer programmer, civil servant and college teacher. Obviously I couldn't hold a job. When and why did you start shooting nudes? I started shooting nudes in 2010. I wanted to irritate my neighbor. He is an Evangelical minister. What would you do if you could not shoot nudes? I would put on a saffron robe, get a begging dish, move to Bhutan and become a Buddhist monk. Who are your photographic influences? A kid in high school named Louie. He had a Kodak Brownie. He took great pictures of the cheerleaders in the shower room through a hole in the wall After Louie I'd have to say Andre Kertesz, Peter Basch, Eadweard Muybridge, Albert Arthur Allen, William Cheney Johnston, Man Ray, Robert Mapplethrope and Helmut Newton. I admire Rudolf Kartelin, Jan Saudek and Heiko Thiele among photographers still with us. Do you enter gallery competitions frequently? I rarely enter gallery competitions. I don't like the cheap white wine they serve at their receptions. Are your photographs in private collections? Yes. My work is on the hard drives of thousands of teenage boys. Every photographer has favorite models. What makes a model one of Carney's favorites? I like models who leave beer, wine or food in my refrigerator when they depart. Do you remunerate models? I pay for nude shoots with models that fit my style. I understand that models need to eat. However, please realize that my son and I need to eat too. I do not pay for non-nude work or work which does not fit my style. However, in some cases, travel assistance and hosting may be available. NB: You must present a picture ID proving that you are 18 or older and sign a model release to work with me. Do you host models? I have a guest room for the use of traveling models. It has a queen size bed, air conditioning and an inside chain lock for the model's security. I have an espresso machine. I make a mean double Espresso. Other amenities include WiFi and a washer and dryer. If my son and l Iike you we may ask you to join us in a game of Pokemon Monopoly. MY residence is a DOG FRIENDLY HOME. Canine companions always are welcome. What if I fIake on Carney? It is your loss, not mine. My son and I shall have dinner at a fine restaurant and take in a movie. Anything you would like to add? No. Now go away and leave me alone. I'd like to return for a moment to your views of the work of other photographers.. That does we are done. (Walking away.) But this is an imprtant question.
