I am Doug James, a Phoenix Arizona based event photographer that primarily shoots sports, although I shoot several runway fashion shows and enjoy pushing my abilities with other types of photography.

My goal is to create useful commercial images that help sell a product or service, therefore all models will be asked to sign a commercial model release prior to starting with the session. The model release will cover the usage of images in my stock library. Stock images are used for advertising from billboards to magazines, so if you are looking for commercial style images, I believe I can help.

I am open to TF sessions (Trade for CD of images) however I have a few simple guidelines for these:

Please understand that "TF" does not mean "photographer or model" working for free. TF is an exchange of OUR time, and if we work together to get the kinds of images you and I both need we can feel like it was a positive session. I value your input, I want to hear from you, your ideas and the goals you are trying to achieve from the session. If we work together I know we can produce some fantastic images.



Here are a few simple rules to help make for a great session.

Please be on time - call if you are running late. If you don't call or show up for our session, leave the country.

Please be prepared - pack your things the night before. Choose your wardrobe carefully, clothing with brand names or logos are of no use to us, unless we happen to be shooting a catalog for Nike. For the most part bold, bright colors or clothing with large patterns are preferred over smaller tighter patterns, watch a few episodes of "What Not To Wear" and understand how to dress to maximize your beauty.

Please be rested - get plenty of sleep the night before the shoot. No late night parties or clubbing.

Please take care of your skin - I am not a retouching expert. Breakouts are not doing you any favors.

Please understand that the camera sees every detail - if you think that stray hair or tiny blemish won't show, well trust me it will.

Please be relaxed - everything is going to be fine. We are going to have fun. If it makes you more comfortable to bring an escort, feel free to do so. Bring a parent or guardian if you are under 18 years old to sign a model release, or bring a friend. Children and pets are often distracting so please consider having someone care for them at home.

Please be yourself - together we will create fantastic images, and have some fun. I am not here to judge you, and I am not here to be judged by you, we are here to work together. If you are still learning, don't feel bad, we are all learning something new everyday.

Please take it seriously - we can still have fun and enjoy ourselves while we work to create seriously fantastic images.
