Having a slow and brooding tone, Deontá Arnold is a filmmaker and photographer from Southern California who creates works that are beautifully macabre.
With unnerving attention to detail and a unique shooting style, his films and photos are known to be pleasantly dark. Deontá is interested in exploring topics such as subconscious realities and spiritual taboos in his psychological thrillers and is interested is showing alternate forms of beauty through his images.
When it comes to why Deontá creates the films he makes or the images he captures, it is best summed up by a quote from Ansel Adams; “When words become unclear. I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”

Deontá has a degree in fine art and photography and a BFA in film. Photography and filmmaking is a passion of his and he takes his art seriously, these photos are a reflection of himself. Deontá loves to work with people that are serious about their art but also can have fun with the process. He currently has a home-based studio and but also loves to shoot environmentally.
