About Me

My principle philosophy in photography is "light without shadow is blindness." We live in a world that is both light and shadow and I strive to bring that wisdom to my photography. My portraiture is informed by my time as a military photojournalist and I like my edited photos to have a sense of realness and encompass the personality of the model, as well as my artistic vision.

I am a former U.S. Army photojournalist. I started as a hobbyist photographer in February 2006 while I was deployed to Iraq. From December 2011 to January 2017 I was assigned to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, as a photojournalist. My highlight assignments were photographing the helicopter flyover of Super Bowl XLVIII in January 2014, and capturing the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade's Pathfinders final jump in October 2013.

I am currently working to deepen my portfolio and knowledge base. At this time, in order to maintain the integrity of my artistic vision, I do not outsource retouching.

I recently changed my legal name from Duncan to Darci.
