About Me

My time is now very limited for shoots, plus because of ongoing Covid risks I'm still isolating. I'm not looking to hire models for the foreseeable future.

I have some beautiful friends I love collaborating with. I'm still happy to connect with others of a like mind if local and collaborative for shoots some time in the future, as well as reconnect with those I've worked with in the past.

*** But please don't message me to ask me to hire you if your work schedule is travelling briefly through my city. Thank you. ***

Some background:
Up until 2006 I was commissioning other photographers to shoot for me on commercial projects for my own businesses. I knew what I wanted, composition / theme / lighting, etc. but I didn't have the skills prior to then to operate the camera myself.

Similarly the longer I waited, the better and cheaper DSLR cameras became. So in 2006 after having spent more on photographers than on a decent DSLR, I finally started with my own DSLR.

Once understanding more about the mathematics of photography and lighting from various sources (as I already understood my own flavour of composition), these images focussed a lot of stock style (as I was still shooting for commercial stock images), journalistic style layouts, and candid moments that I still love to capture (such as at weddings and other social events).

From 2008-2010 I moved into pole dance sporting event photography in the UK. I was training as a pole dance student at the time so it was a natural fit as I could pre-empt the moves, and would work with fellow students and teachers with mutual respect for dedicated shoots. I became involved as the photographer for most of the major pole competitions and events around the UK during that time, as well as working with X-pole and such for new product launches such as the X-stage.

In 2010-2013, I took on a small boutique hotel. Having 8 beautiful rooms I then focussed primarily in developing my techniques in boudoir and fetish photography for a while (whilst still going out to do other paid gigs). Also working with photographers and models to run regular events at that hotel that still ran regularly for years following.

In 2013-2014 sailed half way around the world on a racing yacht, and thus did a lot of sailing photography & videography in deep oceans typically under tough circumstances.

From early 2014, I arrived in New Zealand. I've became busy with a range of work opportunities; some of it photography, and more event videography. Then after initially working in movies for lighting and stills photography, I moved increasingly moving into prop and set making (and teaching the same), which became my full time profession.

These days I'm far more of a maker who documents their work. One day I look forward to get back more into photography again in this beautiful country.
