About Me

Making photos of people is my passion in life. I like to capture people for who they are, as they are, and in an environment familiar to them. I use available light, and don’t do makeup, wardrobes. Just be yourself, as that is was I feel makes the most interesting photos.

Currently working on creating new stories of people out in the streets (posed street photography), and also at home or their place of work or at a gym, etc. End goal is to publish a book about all of these stories. I’m not looking to make money from this, so if you’re interested in some free photos, let me know!

Who am I?

Born in Mexico but moved to Miami with my family in 1986. I spent the majority of my awkward highschool years back in Mexico where I was often picked on for not playing soccer. I then moved to San Francisco in 2001 to attend The San Francisco Art Institute until 2004 when I dropped out to work as a freelance photographer and at Ritz Camera’s photo lab in order to make rent. I've had gallery showings at the Miami Dade Gallery, The Still Lights Gallery and The Diego Rivera Gallery at SFAI all between 2000 and 2004.

I then went on to work in video games, then Windows, and now work in author relations at Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing. I use any camera and lens I can get my hands on to make pictures. But my current main is a Hasselblad 501CM with a Carl Zeiss 80mm lens, and I prefer Kodak Portra 400 as my 120 film of choice. I'm a fan of sweeping vistas, books filled with useless facts, Criterion Collection Blu-rays, and Star Wars.
