The name is Kahealani Kaku. I am 18 years of age and earned an High School diploma from Kealakehe High School on the Big Island of Hawaii. As a young girl I always dreamed of becoming a model and walking the run-way. But I never had the confidence to pursuing those dreams, until I decided to take a modeling class. In March 2008, I've attended the Susan Page Modeling classes for 6 weeks. I learned a lot from that experience. Now I have that confidence that I was hiding all these years. Then in July 2008, I entered that "Do you got the Look" contest for Look Hawaii Magazine. I made to the 2nd casting and I was shocked, because we had an interview and we needed to write why we thought we had the look. The 2nd casting came the very next day, and there was about 25 people there. We all had an interview again. then they annouced the winners. The winners got the spot to be Look Hawai'i Magazine's featured model, male and female. They called the male featured model first. Then I heard "Kahealani Kaku as our female featured model." I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. I thought I was dreaming. Tears of joy ran down my face. This was the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I always thought I wasn't good enough to become a model. But know look at me. With all the experience I had to build my cofidence. I thank all you has helped me get through this. To this day on my goal is to be on the T.V. show America's Next Top Model. To do so i'm trying to get all the practice I can get and do as much photo shoots I can do.
