Matt grew up near Cleveland, OH. At an early age, he realized his natural talent for making others laugh. Throughout his school years, he made classmates and friends laugh, earning his reputation as “class clown" and "Most likely to be on SNL." He honored this reputation ever since the time he purposely fell down the steps in front of a lunch mom that reported him to the principal, to the time he conducted “fart fests” during Iowa exams. Matt even began writing at an early age, winning various awards for his short stories and scripts, as well as producing a monthly comic book with a classmate. After earning his bachelor’s degree in marketing at John Carroll University in 2003, Matt founded his website, clevelandclowns.com, and really began focusing on his comedy career and showcasing his talents. He began by performing stand-up and sketch comedy at various comedy clubs around Cleveland. He also started producing, directing, writing and acting in his short videos, working as an actor for voiceover commercials and animation, on-camera commercials, TV and films, and writing feature films & TV pilots.

In early 2007, Matt and his wife relocated to LA with plans of gaining more exposure in the comedy world. Over the past year, he has created numerous comedic short films and sketches and continues to do so. He also attended the famed Second City and IO West.

Matt’s next major career goal is to write and direct a full-length feature comedy film. He gets his inspiration from prominent comedians, directors, writers and producers of the past and present, including Bill Murray, Chris Farley, Oliver Stone, Denis Leary, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Coen Bros., Tom Hanks, Quentin Tarantino, John Candy, Frank Capra, Paul Thomas Anderson, Ivan Reitman, Dan Akroyd, Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, Jack Black, Tex Avery & Harold Ramis among others. He continues to make a lasting impression on everyone he meets and keeps them laughing!
