If art or beauty--like a contact lens--is in the eye of the beholder, then I offer what's understandable, thought-provoking, and sometimes amusing. Photography, after all, is more than the sum of pixel count, exposure, and post-production: without soul, an image can't mesmerize.

(. . . but for those out there who need to know, my hardware's either a full-frame Canon 5d Mark II or a medium format Pentax 645d depending on what's needed.)

Philosophically, I find sizzle as seductive as steak and delight in transforming the quotidian into the arresting. I single-parent a yellow lab mix who many suspect is on valium; enjoy peaceful city living in east Hyde Park, Chicago; and firmly believe that strangers offer the best candy.

Most of my work is by paid assignment although I sometimes do TFP if the project/proposal has interesting possibilities.
