About Me

I've been studying photography since I was 17. After finishing university in 2004 with a degree in photography, I decided to become a freelance photographer. I’ve been drifting about from company to company since becoming a freelance photographer (mainly during the spring and summer), as well as dealing with my own photo shoot projects… anything to gain experience ‘working in the field’.

Because I don’t have my own photography studio, all of my photo shoots are done ‘on location’. If possible; I’ll always pick locations away from the public (unless the theme of a shoot involves being in the public eye) because I know that having people watching during a photo shoot can be distracting and/or annoying.

Coming from an artist background (this includes a college qualification in Art & Design), I really get involved in the pre-production stages of all photo shoot I do. With lots of research and drawing going into all of the planning stages, I may seem like a bit of a perfectionist. Saying that… I’m always open to ideas and opinions from the people I work and will include their feedback into the planning; if I believe it’ll improve the outcome of the photo shoot (which is about 99% of the time).

During the photo shoot, I always do my best to keep the mood of the shoot as relaxed as possible. This may involve playing music or joking around and talking from behind the camera.  I believe a relaxed (but not too relaxed) and enjoyable photo shoot will always produce better photos.

In my free time, when I’m not doing anything photography related, I like to draw (As I’ve already stated; I was an artist before becoming a photographer.), go for long walks, dancing and try my best to stay in good shape. I'm also write short stories; even though I haven't had any of them published... yet!

I'm hoping this website will help me get in touch with fellow photographers and models. I also hope this site will help me improve my skills as a photographer... and hopefully one day, get myself notice in the photography industry.

If you would like to work with me or would like to swap any photography tips and info, please get in touch with me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Many thanks for taking time to view my portfolio.
