Named sixteenth in American Photo magazine’s “100 most important people in photography” in 2005, he founded WorldPictureNews-WpN- in 2001 an international photo agency with over 700 photographers in 72 countries and as Chief Operations Officer built the agency into a leading force in the photographic industry.

Seamus has over 17 years of international photojournalistic and television experience and judges many international photographic awards, his coverage of news stories and documentaries includes the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, Serbia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Burundi, India, Kashmir, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Nigeria and Zimbabwe for magazines such as LIFE magazine, National Geographic, People Magazine, Newsweek, TIME, Stern and Paris Match. Seamus has also worked for TV news organizations such as CNN, The BBC, APTV, NHK, Canal Plus, ITV, Channel 4 Television to name a few.

During the Rwandan war in 1994, he brought together the resources of the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNICEF, Eastman Kodak and Life magazine to help reunite more than 20,000 lost children with their parents using photographic images. The process evolved into “The Lost Children of Rwanda” one of the largest traveling photo exhibitions in history, with coverage in hundreds of major print and broadcast media, and is now a standard form of tracing people in developing nations. “The Lost Children of Rwanda” was named one of the “100 images that changed the world” by Life magazine.’ Seamus continues to produce large projects to utilize photography as a tool for change.
