About Me

I experiment with various recipes of beauty clay, liquid latex, and fabric to create unearthly textures or ones that simulate stone or metal to create the illusion of the figure as sculpture.

My interest in bodypainting grew from an unusual source. Since I was a young man, stories of people being turned into stone or works of art fascinated, whether written down or presented visually in various entertainment media. Films like House of Wax, A Bucket of Blood, and Peeping Tom peaked my curiosity and fascination with the human form and the artistic impulse in general. Frequent visits to museums and fascination with "freeze models" who were in malls and mimes who did performance art increased my interest. I found what I learned in fine art and in working at salons was easily applicable to my artistic endeavors.

From there, I have combined my training in traditional and modern media to create unique visions. I'm drawn to blending the figure with stylized & monumental architecture, as it can often add a fantastically eye-catching and novel amount of variety to a model's portfolio.

I am able, willing, and eager to bring anything from mythological to comic book themes to life with this medium. Training in the salon field has given me access to a wide variety of ingredients as well as ways to prepare them so that not only is this a novel way to present the body for aesthetic display but also soothing for the skin and hair. I use jojoba oil in all metallic and natural mineral clays or herbal dye mixtures in my palette. If you would like to experience this for your portfolio or presentation, please do not hesitate to contact me here.
