Hello MM members. My name is Melvin McClanahan Jr. from the Hampton, GA area and I am a graphic designer who also does photography. I am a self-taught photographer, absorbing as much as I can about the craft. I don’t have a shooting style. I go through phases and they always change. The beauty of capturing great images behind a lens is the reason I’m here.  I am interested in building and networking with positive individuals such as models, makeup artists, hair stylists and other photographers of the photographic and modeling community in an effort to create beautiful imagery. I am also looking for the opportunity to increase my portfolio, along with my skills. My primary focus is with the intent of creating high quality images for print, web, and portfolio for both model and myself.  My ultimate goal though is to continue to do great work for my clients. I like to have a friendly yet professional relationship with clients. I request that all clients come prepared to shoot. My time is valuable and so is yours. PLEASE BE PROFESSIONAL. I don't tolerate rudeness or negative attitudes. Please, don't bring your issues to my shoot. And, if you aren't serious about shooting, please don't waste our time. DO NOT text or call me the day of a shoot to cancel, unless there is an extreme emergency. If you are a FLAKE, please, move on to someone else. I have no problem with clients being escorted to my shoots, I encourage it. Sometimes a reflector holder is needed. LOL! One thing though, please limit your escorts to 2. No one needs an entourage to take pictures. Trust me I’m a puppy dog. Please note: I wouldn’t ask a model to do anything I wouldn’t do. In fact, I wouldn’t ask a model to do a lot of the things that I would do.

I specialize in portraiture, but I also shoot outdoors, nature, events, and fine art. I don't consider my work high-fashion or glamour; I just love bringing out natural beauty. Im looking into studio space but prefer natural light. The direction/concept/theme of the shoot is strictly between myself and the model.

I have had the privilege of working with some amazingly talented people and I would like to applaud everyone who has dedicated their time to me because true credit is deserving of the talent I work with. I WISH YOU ALL MUCH SUCCESS!!

I'm currently ranked as the #1 photographer in my house… Although, my son hit the shutter button one time and he’s not too shabby.
