About Me

MIA by Mia Nisbet is an award winning Ethical Label, winner of the 2008 Make Your Mark In Fashion Award and the 2009 Innovation Award from The British Fashion Council. 

MIA by Mia Nisbet is an up-cycled clothing label with a social and environmental conscience. As the basis for the range, second hand fabrics are sourced in Malawi. MIA then combines these recycled materials with traditional Malawian textiles to produce a collection that merges the richness of African textiles with western styling. MIA works with producers in Malawi to create her ranges. Collections are designed and sold to an International fashion market. Some of the profits are reinvested in communities in Malawi as well as in training, equipment and the infrastructure needed to increase market access and create sustainable livelihoods. The design concept is ethical fashion that unites two cultures, and importantly, is sustainable and wearable.

I am looking for designers, stylists and creatives who wish to submit an advert or fashion editorial for Unfolded Magazine Issue 2 which will be released on March 21st 2011

It is an online mag focusing on Fashion, Art and Media which you can view at www.unfoldedmag.com

Issue One was released on November 1 2010 and has received a lot of praise and interest. Issue's Two through Five will follow Equinox and Solstice for Seasonal year 2011
