My name is Arneen Ahsan Id like to thank you for taking the time to look through my profile. Here is a little about me


I am a passionate freelance/aspiring professional photographer and dedicated university student based in Auckland, New Zealand.


In late October 2008 was offered a place at the University of Auckland Elam School Of Fine Arts. Getting recognition for admission from the best arts school in the country was one of the proudest moments of my academic life pre-tertiary study because my portfolio and skill set were both based solely on photography while in almost every other corner I looked my fellow high school applicants were cumulating portfolio placements consisting of various types of art & print media, something I couldn't do to (lets be honest) save my life.

Although this may have got me places somewhere in the near future I decided dedicating 4 years of my life to a Fine Arts degree to eventually maybe pursue photography as a self employed part-time career was not something I was willing to commit to (I'm almost a jack of more than a few trades). I turned down the opportunity & am currently in my fifth and final year at the University of Auckland completing a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Management Major and Psychology Minor.

If I were to pursue a full-time career in the field of photography my main objective would be to start my own studio & photography company to work as a freelance photographer working for fashion editorial, events, portraiture, look books, commercial shoots, television/film & product/advertising.

It has now become a preference to photograph people. I am heavily influenced heavily by the consistent, amazing work I see in fashion spreads, magazines & runways on a frequent basis, not to mention the incredible work of my favourite photographer Miss Lara Jade Coton- Such an inspiring artist!

I recently traveled across the U.S. and am back in Auckland looking to work with models/makeup artists/hair stylists etc who require some assistance with either starting or building portfolios or are just looking for a fun, collaborative experience!

Disclaimer: I am using this site as merely a privilege to myself and anybody who is interested in working with me via TF's. I much rather prefer working via TF's because its a much more sufficient process in terms of getting the most successful shots out from shoots out to clients in terms of quantity and quality & requires trading on a level playing field especially for those who are just getting started in the industry.

I am looking for clients that have flexible schedules, who like what they see in my gallery and are serious about getting photographed for portfolios, look books, events etc. If that is you then please feel free to message me I would love to hear from you!

My study commitments and class schedules mean I absolutely require flexibility with scheduling shoots so please be considerate of this before contacting me.

Rates:
I am not expecting any payment currently for my assistance however that may change depending on the project at hand.

Experience:
I am NOT a professional photographer and do not have any experience whatsoever professionally. I do however have experience photographing the following:

-Potraits
-Portfolios
-Events
-Products

And am also a reliable beauty source/can provide compensatory services for
-Makeup
-Styling

I know what I am doing and you can count on me to make you look great at your comfort level. I have no written qualifications in makeup artistry because I am not a makeup artist or a qualified stylist but have legitimate experience in both & am a well informed & aspiring beauty guru/stylist

Usually I tend to take on the role of photographer, makeup artist, stylist & hair stylist for basic shoots which means I will be able to dedicate a tremendous amount of time into quality client consultation & service in these circumstances which is not always possible with more people working together.

Having years of experience in customer service and retail it is very important to me that the client receives nothing but great service from all parties involved in the collaboration.


My only visual experience is what you see in my photographs so I wont be showing up to shoots with a truck full of lighting and intensely flash equipment although I hope to one day.

As far as tools of the trade go I am a proud owner of a Canon 7D & cannot wait to start shooting with it again!

Most of the models I have photographed to far are close friends of mine so the big thankyou goes out to them for letting me get started!

More of What You Can Expect From My Services and What I'm Looking For:

I love working with people and am interested in coming across models who will help widen the range of looks used in my photographs. I am extremely open minded about who I decide to work with and If I have a particular look I am interested in you will be notified.

[No height restrictions]

When I photograph clients I try my best to get a variety of shots so that when it comes to post-processing I have more to work with therefore you can expect me to send you a selective number of photographs depending of course on how many successful shots we obtain. The client has the option of either choosing their favourites from the shoot for me to edit and send through or can leave the decision up to me - either way I am happy to post the selected photos from the shoot electronically through social media or on a flash drive or CD which must be provided. It is then up to the client under conditions agreed upon the release form to use the photographs for self-promotion through look book prints or social media provided marketing contains full credentials of all relevant parties involved in the production process.

Based on previous incidents I should probably mention to not ask me for original or RAW formats as unfortunately they will be of my possession only. Please be considerate with the time I take to edit photos also, it is not usually a lengthy process but this depends on the shoot & what degree of post production is necessary to follow through with. The end product/s and overall aesthetics matter a great deal so it is very important for me to retouch to the best of my ability. I am usually very speedy though!

I would really love to collaborate ideas with clients so the benefits of my photographs go both ways and am more than happy to have meet & greets to brainstorm ideas for collaborative shoots. Feel free to let me in on any particular ideas themes or looks you may have in mind.

I'll work with each client under these circumstances:

I will ask all models to sign a release form prior to shooting purely to ensure there is no unauthorized use of my work - just so you have my permission to use my images under certain conditions and so I have yours under legal conditions.

I own copyright to all images and any form of post processing is purely my responsibility and mine ONLY.

Underage models should preferably bring a parent or guardian to photo shoots or will be sent an electronic copy of the form to print off, get signed and bring to the shoot. This applies to anyone under the age of 18 who will require the signature of a legal guardian to proceed.
