I dress how I want, combining a DIY/punk ethos with classic leading man style.
When I first started realizing there was such a thing as style, I ditched my Garanimals and Izod polos. Then, I found myself wanting to be like Joe Strummer and John Lydon with a little bit of Elvis Costello thrown it as a nod to my WASPy upbringing. Those guys wore clothing in a way that I had seen few others do before, like turning themselves inside-out and wearing their politics on their sleeves, literally. Over the years, my own style has changed, incorporating looks stolen from David Bowie and the Hollywood leading men of the twenties, thirties, and fifties, but even when I'm wearing a Paul Smith suit, I always find a way to tweak the look in some way to make me feel like a young punk.
