Originally from Cornwall, I settled in the West Midlands in the late 1990's.

I first took a minor interest in photography at school in the late 1980's. 

My parents bought me a cheap film camera one Christmas.

I then spent the next few years snapping my way through various universities.

In 2000 I got my first Digital camera (a 1.3MP Fuji), quickly progressing to a compact camera (Olympus C5050z).

I had some feeble attempts at using the C5050z in manual mode and attaching various lenses to it.

It was around this time that the local music scene in Telford started taking off.  On occasion, I took my camera and enjoyed taking photos of the bands for fun and the Telford Rocks website.

In early 2007, I was offered the chance to buy a second hand Nikon D70.  I made a conscious decision to learn to use it in fully manual mode. It was then the photography bug really hit me.  I've been hooked ever since.
