The Kitchen Portraits is a series of photographs of African diasporan and Afro-Caribbean women working in arts, media, culture, music, blogging and business.

Its inspired by the work of famous African photographer Malick Sidibé from Mali, who took portraits over several decades, many with the same simple background.

We wanted to do something with the same simple feel, concentrating on natural beauty, but within a contemporary setting.

The shots done in the kitchen.....the same kitchen....here in London....

These pictures are being published in 2016 in a book 'The Kitchen Portraits' with proceeds going to charity. There will also be an exhibition, a website and a series of features in a magazine.
