Raised in Boston Massachusetts, Akia Ramsay developed an eclectic style honed by  her urban upbringing and her passion for vintage. Akia developed  her aesthetic by rummaging through her grandmothers closet for timeless pieces, delving through neighborhood yard sales and attending sewing classes at the Eliot School in Jamaica Plain.

The unique coupling of vintage combined with the ability to reconstruct garments sparked Akia's desire to create a line of  clothes with classic elements, urban undertones, and strong tailored silhouettes.  With the birth of Sweet Society in 2007, Akia is able to deliver her vision of another fashion world, were one of a kind pieces make environmental and economical sense.
