Became interested in photography in 1992 recuperating from an illness. I started shooting plays at my brothers university drama dept. shortly thereafter and considered at the time returning to school with the intention of turning pro. Life got in the way  and I ended up emigrating to the US (from Ireland) and discontinued full time  photography for 10 years. I started again 2005 and finally bit the bullet and went full time in 2006. I bought my first DSLR, a trusty Nikon D50 and never looked back. Since then I have photographed the local music and events scene extensively and then graduated to portraiture.

I believe in keeping an image as simple as possible. If you want high concept, manipulated images I am probably not the person to talk to. My whole raison d'Etre when shooting portraiture is to bring out the unique personality of the human being in front of me. If I can do that I have done my job properly and quoting Ken Rockwell "The camera's only job is to get out of the way of making photographs".
